Recently House Industries released yet another typeface that I immediately loved.
United reminds me of exactly what it’s name implies, the military. And my grandfather was in the navy for 30+ years and it makes me want to dig back through history to see what other typefaces could be waiting to be revived. In addition to the many styles in this family, there are also limited edition posters that I’m quite tempted to buy. I’m holding out for now.
The style shown here reminds me of the lettering that you would see painted on the outside of the ship, as in USS Bryce Canyon (that’s one of the ships that my grandfather was on. You can see him on the right in the pic below.). Perfect, right? But I would highly suggest you click over to House Industries to view more and even test this new font out. I doubt you’ll be sorry.
