I’ve admired Benny Gold for quite some time, his design work and products are top notch. I follow him on Twitter, and see the way his followers/fans appreciate all of the hard work that goes into his streetwear company. Located in San Francisco, the Benny Gold dream began on a day off while posting stickers that read “Stay Gold”, as “a reminder that all the ideas and experiences that we hold dear are the real gold inside each of us.” After years of working at an unsatisfying job as an in-house designer, he launched his own brand. He’s a good example of starting small and growing a brand organically, and he did it with love from his customers. The skate culture embraces Benny Gold, and Benny Gold embraces them right back.
I admit, I dream of the day that I can build a brand of my own like this and have been slowly working my way towards that goal. And watching others live their dream on a daily basis is inspiring and gives me motivation. Benny Gold is one brand that you should follow and look at as an example to keep your dreams alive.
And I’m also a BIG fan of his furry little friend Levi, a light-colored Frenchie who seems to keep him and his family company everywhere they go.
